A brother of Regulator leader Gideon Gibson was wounded, and the Regulators threatened to hang the constable. Woodmason referred to this: Several days later a new incident was reported. A constable, with warrants of distress to serve on the property of the Regulators, summoned thirteen men to his aid. Near Marr’s Bluff, on the Peedee River, this group met a larger party of Regulators.
